You know the ones...the horses that reach in and take hold of your heart. Redman had a good hold and had such a presence here....he made a strong impact on our lives. There was never a question of who was the top horse - who ran the place. He will remain with us, in our hearts, throughout this ranch...and through the beautiful foals that he produced for us. Redman produced many colts - but there was only one Redman. He will be missed.

Redman laid to rest on Thursday, June 19, 2008...shortly after his 30th year. There's so much to be said about this remarkable horse - those that have a connection with him understand with a heavy heart, the loss of a marvelous stallion.

We came upon Redman late in his life, at the young age of 26. You would never have known that he had only been here for 4 years...it seemed like we had known him so much longer. He deserved recognition, and we feel privileged to have taken part as we did.

Wonderful people from all over the globe had interests in this remarkable horse. From as far away as Brazil - one of his fans diligently went through the painstaking steps to have semen imported. He then decided to purchase a grandson of Redman - to carry on his bloodline at his farm in Brazil. Lucy from New Jersey, whose friendship was derived through this horse, called to speak to us personally with her sympathy of his loss.

We breed the Appaloosas with such pride - we celebrate their births....and we mourn their passings....with our faces buried in his neck.....we gave him our hearts.

Farewell my friend - thank you for coming into our lives...and leaving us with your memory.
